Praxis Talk

Albertus_ Original Guidelines Here:

(rough draft of) Initial Format Ideas:

- All topics are welcomed, but subject to approval by consensus.

- Guest speakers will post(or one of us will post for them) their lecture onto the forum. This is to be read by all of those attending the Socratic Hall event of the particular speaker. No questions should be asked to the speaker on the forum since not all speakers will: a) be part of the deoxy community, or b) have the time to remain updated on the forum's goings-on.

- The IRC events will be a recapitulation of the topic by the speaker and the place to ask questions. We also note that perhaps some speakers will not wish to write a lecture essay, and may instead wish to hold entire event through audio(although they will be encouraged to a least write a summary of the lecture). Once the event is over all information will be posted on the forums and open to debate irrespective of which is the case.

- Ideally each speaker will be given the opportunity to utilize audio and actually 'speak' to us.

- The guest listeners will not 'be given microphones', each question will be sent in written format via IRC relay chat #Socratic_Hall. Speakers are free to answer the questions of their choosing, they are not obliged to answer all of them.

- We expect all listeners to be respectful, after all they will be in the Hall out of their own free will. There will be moderators present during all events.

- Re-stressing a point: After each event, the questions and answers will be posted on Deoxy forum, opening a free debate opportunity for the community.

- Ideally all events will be recorded in a podcast style audio format and be archived somewhere for easy referencing. The link to the podcast will be found on the event thread.

- For each event a 'Deoxy Media Wiki' page will be created, it shall contain transcripts, mp3's, essays, and anything else which the particular event may present

— Authors of the events are free to choose how they wish to license their work. In all cases, unless otherwise specified by the author, all licenses are " Attribution NonCommercial? ShareAlike? 2.5 " - for the actual license visit the following link: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.5/

"— All topics are welcomed, but subject to approval by consensus."

Glandmaster has suggested approval by turnout and I would 'second that'.
Refer to Praxis/Schedule Talk for discussion of scheduling on 'first come first serve' basis.
